Schleinikon is a municipality in the district of Dielsdorf in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland . The districts Schleinikon, Dachsleren and Wasen belong to the community .

The village center is on the southern side of the Wehntal , which is drained by the Surb . The municipality extends from the Lägerengrat in the south to the Egg in the north. It borders on Oberweningen , Niederweningen , Otelfingen , Boppelsen and Regensberg and in the far north on Siglistorf in the canton of Aargau . The agricultural area is 49.7%, forest and woodland are 43.4% and 6.7% of the municipal area is occupied by the settlement.

Since 1992 the population has increased by 22%, 8% of which is due to a birth surplus and 13% to immigration from other places. More than 77% of the working population are commuters.

Economy and Infrastructure

Schleinikon lies on the Wehntalbahn (Oberglatt – Niederweningen), which is served by the S 15 Rapperswil - Uster - Zurich HB - Oberglatt - Niederweningen , but has no train station.
The church is opened on weekdays at peak times of the post bus -Buslinie 555 that the station Schöfflisdorf-Oberweningen runs out. The three stops Wasen , Dachsleren and Schleinikon Dorf open up the respective localities in the municipality.
The main road 17 from Zurich to Döttingen leads through Schleinikon.
Attractions
The most famous building in Schleinikon is the Zythüsli , a timber frame structure built in the 18th century.
