history

The place name is traced back to a clan leader named Tello, from which Tellinghovon became. These oldest preserved mention of the name dates back to February 8, 870, as an Alemannic latifundia the monastery of St. Gall lands right of the Limmat and gave the Furttal.
With the exception of the Barons von Regensberg , the landowners in Dällikon were mainly spiritual foundations: the Muri and Fahr monasteries , the Einsiedeln abbey , the Fraumünster monastery in Zurich, the provost of the Grossmünster and the nunnery in the Oetenbach , also in Zurich.
In 1468 the city of Zurich bought the Landenberg-Greifensee estate, which at that time included Dällikon with the High Courts. Zurich assigned the village to the Upper Bailiwick of Regensberg . After the French invaded Dällikon in 1798, it became part of the Regensberg district, and later it became part of the Dielsdorf district.
Until 1843 Dällikon formed a political municipality with the neighboring village Dänikon . The common school was split up in 1876. The reformed parish of Dällikon-Dänikon, however, has survived to the present day.
