Neerach is a municipality in the district of Dielsdorf in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland .

geography
The community consists of the villages Neerach and Riedt , which until around 35 years ago formed two independent civil communities .
The landscape is quite flat with rolling hills. The wetlands of the Neeracherried are located in the lowlands in the southeast of the municipality. The forest covers only 5.5% of the community area of 601 ha , 65% are used for agriculture, 6.3% for traffic and 11.1% is settlement area.
The municipality of Neerach borders in the north on Stadel bei Niederglatt , in the northeast on Hochfelden , in the east on Höri , in the southeast on Niederglatt , in the southwest on Steinmaur and in the northwest on Bachs .

economy
Like the population structure, the municipal finances and tax situation in Neerach have changed since the early 1960s. The simple state tax income has grown from CHF 30,000.00 to CHF 9.7 million during this period, while the municipal tax rate, which was at the upper limit at the time, has fallen from 156% to 73% today. This makes Neerach the most tax-efficient municipality in the canton of Zurich.
history
The place Neerach was first mentioned as "Neeracho" and is therefore a Gallo-Roman foundation according to today's knowledge . For many centuries Neerach was a local center of the Habsburg and then the Zurich state administration.
