Vinnie Paz (real name Vincenzo Luvineri , born October 5, 1977 in Italy ) is a rapper and lyricist for the Jedi Mind Tricks group from Philadelphia . He is a member of the hip-hop group Army of the Pharaohs .

biography

Luvinieri grew up in Clifton Heights (Pennsylvania) in the USA. He was raised a Roman Catholic but converted to Islam as an adult. He began his career as a rapper in 1991 under the pseudonym Ikon the Verbal Hologram, which he later changed to Vinnie Paz. This stage name is modeled on the boxer Vinny Pazienza . Together with his childhood friend Stoupe The Enemy of Mankind, he founded the group Jedi Mind Tricks in 1993.

As a solo artist, Vinnie Paz was under contract with Babygrande Records from 1996 to 2009. He then founded Pazmanian Devil Music, where he only released the EP Prayer Of The Assassin , and then the Enemy Soil label. That label released his two solo albums Season of the Assassin (2009) and God of the Serengeti (2012) as well as the two most recent albums from his combo Jedi Mind Tricks ( Violence Begets Violence (2011) and in 2015 The Thief And The Fallen ).
