William Braunstein (born July 4, 1972 in Brooklyn , New York ), better known under the name Ill Bill , is an American rapper and music producer .

Life

Braunstein was born in Brooklyn on July 4, 1972 to Jewish immigrants. He made his first musical experiences with his brother Ron Braunstein, later known as Necro , as a member of a heavy metal band. At the beginning of his career as a rapper, Ill Bill released the single called "God is an Atheist". Through the group Non Phixion , which took middle places in the US hip-hop and rap charts between 2000 and 2002 with the songs "Black Helicopters", "Rock Stars" and "Drug Music", he gained more attention to steer towards yourself. Ill Bill is the founder and CEO of Uncle Howie Records, his own music label, which he named after his late uncle Howie Tenenbaum and dedicated it to him. Since the breakup of Non Phixion, Ill Bill has been part of the rap formation La Coka Nostra alongside rappers like Danny Boy (ex House of Pain member) and Slaine . The group is supported by DJ Lethal (also an ex-House of Pain member), the DJ from Limp Bizkit . She released her debut album on July 14th, 2009 called "A Brand You Can Trust". In a feature on hiphop.de Ill Bill is referred to as a New York "underground".
