Virgilijus Poderys (born March 18, 1961 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian civil servant, former head of national authorities such as Lietuvos Respublikos vertybinių popierių komisija (VPK) and Valstybinė kainų ir energetikos kontrolės komisija (VKEKK).

Life

After graduating from high school from 1967 to 1979 at Kaunas 21 Middle School, he graduated from 1979 to 1984 with a degree in physics from Vilniaus universitetas and then an MBA at Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas . From 1996 he studied law by distance learning at the Vilniaus universitetas. He completed his master's degree at the Baltic Management Institute in Vilnius .

From 1984 he worked at the Chemistry Institute and from 1992 to 1993 at the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania as a specialist. From April 2000 he was CEO of the gas company AB " Lietuvos dujos ". From 2006 to 2007 he was financial advisor to the Lithuanian Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas . In 2016 he is a candidate for Minister at the Ministry of Energy of Lithuania in the Skvernelis cabinet .

He is married and has a son and a daughter.
