Virgilijus Valančius

Virgilijus Valančius (born June 12, 1963 in Plungė , Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, judge of the EU court , civil procedure lawyer , professor at the Mykolas Romer University in Vilnius .

biography

In 1986 Virgilijus Valančius completed his law studies at the University of Vilnius and obtained his doctorate from 1998 to 2000 after completing his doctorate at the Lithuanian Law University (today: Mykolas-Romer University), and has worked there so far.

From 1986 to 1990 he worked in the public prosecutor's office and from 1991 to 1994 as a judge in the Vilnius District Court. From 2002 to November 2008 he was court president of the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania (lit. Lietuvos vyriausiasis administracinis teismas ). He has been a judge at the General Court of the European Union since April 2016 .

From 1995 to 2001 he was the head of the working group for the drafting of the Civil Procedure Code of Lithuania .
