Christoffer Källqvist (born August 26, 1983 ) is a former Swedish football player . The goalkeeper , who went through several Swedish junior national teams, was promoted to Allsvenskan twice with BK Häcken and played a total of 474 games for the club in his almost 18-year professional career.

Career

Källqvist comes from the youth of the Gothenburg club BK Häcken , which he joined at the age of four. In 2001 he moved up as a substitute for Joakim Olsson in the squad of the men's team and came to eleven first division appearances. At the end of the season, the club was relegated to the Superettan , despite the subsequent departure of Olsson, he initially remained second goalkeeper behind the newly signed Magnus Jonsson . He was able to displace this between the posts in the second division season in 2004 and contributed to the return to the Allsvenskan in 29 games this season. At the same time he played his way into the Swedish U-21 team , whose goalkeeper he was subsequently.

At the end of the first division season in 2006 , Källqvist occupied the relegation place with his team. After two defeats in the games against IF Brommapojkarna , she had to relegate again. Due to injury, he came in the following second division season only to 13 missions and was replaced by Alexander Hysén . In the second division season in 2008 he was again a regular goalkeeper and contributed to the renewed rise of the team around players like Paulinho , Mattias Östberg and Janne Saarinen . In February 2009 he extended his contract with the Gothenburg club until 2011. In the following season he was one of the guarantors who contributed to reaching fifth place in the table. Despite offers from abroad, he finally extended his contract at the beginning of 2010 for two more years until the end of 2013. In the following years he continued to be a regular goalkeeper before Peter Abrahamsson, who was signed as a substitute goalkeeper in 2014, pushed him between the posts during the 2015 season . As a result, he was only used sporadically, in October 2018, even after isolated injuries, he announced his end of career at the end of the season and the subsequent change to the coaching team. He sat on the bench both in the 2015/16 cup win on penalties against Malmö FF and in the 2018/19 title win after a 3-0 win over AFC Eskilstuna . In the late summer of 2019 he celebrated a comeback in the Allsvenskan when Abrahamsson and substitute goalkeeper Jonathan Rasheed were out and he guarded the goal in the 4-1 win over Falkenbergs FF .
