Civil Procedure Code (Lithuania)

The Civil Procedure Code of the Republic of Lithuania (lit. Lietuvos Respublikos civilinio proceso kodeksas , LR CPK ) is the comprehensive Lithuanian code of civil procedure law and the main legal source of the Lithuanian civil procedure law. The law was passed by the Seimas on July 28, 2002 and came into force on January 1, 2003 . The predecessor of the Code of Civil Procedure was the Code of Civil Procedure of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic of 1964 .

history

From 1995 to 2001 the project was developed by civil procedural lawyers and judges from the Supreme Court of Lithuania and the Court of Appeal of Lithuania . The working group was headed by a judge and lecturer at the MRU Virgilijus Valančius University . The group consisted of Artūras Driukas , Egidijus Laužikas , Prof. Vytautas Nekrošius (University of Vilnius), J. Orlauskas, Konstantas Ramelis , A. Simniškis, Vigintas Višinskis .

The Commentary of the Lithuanian Code of Civil Procedure was drawn up between 2004 and 2005.
