Virginie Henry

Virginie Henry (born November 29, 1979 ) is a former French judoka . Her greatest success was winning the Tournoi de Paris 2007 in the weight class up to 63 kilograms.

Athletic career

Virginie Henry fought until 2005 mainly in the weight class up to 57 kilograms. In 2005 she finished second behind Irène Chevreuil at the French championships .

In 2006 she switched to the weight class up to 63 kilograms. In early 2007 she won the French championship title in this weight class. Three weeks later she reached the final of the Tournoi de Paris Super World Cup with a victory over the Japanese Ayumi Tanimoto , in the final she defeated her compatriot Lucie Décosse . A month and a half later, Henry finished third at the European Police Championships. At French championships she was second behind Emmanuelle Payet in 2008 and behind Clarisse Agbegnenou in 2010 . In between, she took third place in 2009.
