Viscount Esher

Viscount Esher , of Esher in the County of Surrey , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was created on November 11, 1897 for prominent attorney and judge William Baliol Brett, 1st Baron Esher , when he retired after more than 16 years as a Master of the Rolls .

Subordinate title

Brett had been promoted to Baron Esher , of Esher in the County of Surrey on July 24, 1885 . This title, which also belongs to the Peerage of the United Kingdom, is now listed as a subordinate title.

Probable title heir ( Heir apparent ) is the son of the current Viscount, Hon. (The Honorable) Matthew Christopher Anthony Brett (* 1963).

Its title heir is his son Jack Alexander Baliol Brett (* 1996).
