Visvaldis Veders
Visvaldis M. Veders (born January 24, 1921 , † May 11, 1997 ) was a Latvian chess composer .
Chess composition
When he was twelve, Veders sent his first chess problems to Peteris Keirans, the editor of the magazine Krusta mikla, šahs, bridžs .
There were three stages in his work. Before the war he composed more than 200 tasks that did not go beyond a certain technical level. From 1946 to 1961 he actively participated in national championships and tournaments and was, among other things, with the Latvian team in the first team championship of the USSR. After a creative break, Veders took over the chairmanship of the Latvian Commission for Chess Composition in 1968 and organized a variety of activities. The section for chess composition in the magazine Šahs illustrates this development in the 1970s.
