Vittoria Buttress is a striking and 750 m high cliff in the north of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It forms the northwestern extension of the Lassus Mountains and towers over the southeastern shore of Lasarev Bay .
The British geographer Derek Searle from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped it in 1960 using aerial photographs taken by the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the cliff in 1961 after the Spanish composer Tomás Luis de Victoria (1535-1611).
