Vice County Brosse
The vice-county of Brosse was a medieval fiefdom in what is now the French department of Indre . The center of the vice-county was Brosse Castle in the municipality of Chaillac .
history
The vice-county was inherited by the family of the vice-counts of Limoges in the 12th century and then passed on to a younger line of the family. At the beginning of the 14th century, the vice-county was again inherited by the Chauvigny family. Almost two centuries later, the Chauvigny family died with André III. out. The property was then divided: By contract of May 5, 1519 Hardouin de Maillé, cousin Andrés, u. a. two thirds of the vice-county of Brosse, Louise de Bourbon, the widow Andrés, u. a. one third. In 1546 the Brosse Vice-County acquired all of the Bourbon family.
