Vladimír Suchánek

Vladimír Suchánek (born February 12, 1933 in Nové Město nad Metují ) is a Czech postage stamp artist. As a graphic artist , he created numerous bookplates for domestic and foreign bookplate collectors as color lithographs .

Life

From 1952 to 1954 he studied education at the Charles University in Prague and from 1954 to 1960 art and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague .

The former musician, who even had his own band called Grafièanka with other postage stamp artists , created several postage stamps for the Czech Republic, but was also the designer of the joint issue on the 1000th anniversary of the death of St. Adalbert in 1997, which was published in Poland, Hungary and the Vatican Germany was issued.

He was also the chairman of the HOLLAR Association of Graphic Artists in the Czech Republic.
