Vladimir Prudnikov (lit.Vladimiras Prudnikovas ; born April 10, 1949 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian opera singer (bass), music teacher and former politician , Minister of Culture of Lithuania .

Life

From 1959 Prudnikov sang in the boys' choir " Ąžuoliukas " in Vilnius. In 1979 he graduated from the Lithuanian State Conservatory . After that he was a singer at the National Opera Theater of Lithuania and professor of singing at the Conservatory.

Prudnikov has been a member of Darbo partija since 2004 . From 2004 to 2006 he was Minister of Culture in the Brazauskas II cabinet .

Prudnikov is of Russian origin. Prudnikov is married to the pianist Nijolė Ralytė. The opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ) Ieva Prudnikovaitė (* 1983) is his daughter.
