Ąžuoliukas (Eng. ' Oaks ') is a boys' and youth choir founded in 1959 by Hermanas Perelšteinas in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . In 1979 the "Ąžuoliukas" music school was founded. Here the choir members learn music ( solfège , music literature, harmony, conducting and instrumental music). There are 50 teachers in the school. The organization is a public institution (Viešoji įstaiga Berniukų ir jaunuolių choras "Ąžuoliukas").
history
On September 3, 1959, the first rehearsal took place in the communication workers' club. There were 30 boys led by Hermanas Perelšteinas. In June 1962 the choir had its first concert abroad ( Riga , Latvia ) and in 1963 made guest appearances in Riga and Tallinn ( Estonia ), 1965 in Moscow , 1973 in the GDR (16 concerts), at the festival “ Berliner Festtage ”; 1974 in Artek (Ukraine), 1978 in Minsk .
