Lists on the subject

The Voere VEC 91 is a hunting rifle from Voere Präzisionstechnik GmbH, Kufstein , Tyrol . In 1991 it was the world's first mass-produced hunting rifle for caseless ammunition .

Ammunition and ignition mechanism

The ammunition consists only of nitrocellulose and the projectile . It burns residue-free when fired in the weapon . Instead of the conventional detonator , a semiconductor element is used that ignites the propellant without any measurable delay. Electric ignition is 10 times faster than conventional ignition, regardless of environmental influences such as rain, sun, cold and vibrations. The cost per shot is quite high and was listed at $ 2 in 2010  .
