The Vogelsche garden house is a typical classic garden house for Dresden civic gardens on the Neustadt bank of the Elbe . It is on the Elbe side of the Hotel Bellevue .

The older long building was part of the property on Große Meißner Gasse 6 as a farm building. The restaurant “Zum Blauen Stern”, later “City of London”, was located on the property. The attached head building at Grosse Meißner Gasse 4 was built as a private garden shed from 1811 to 1814 based on plans by Christian Friedrich Schuricht . It served as a residence for the art historian Christian Leberecht Vogel , the father of Carl Christian Vogel von Vogelstein .

In 1936 the Vogelsche garden house was rebuilt according to a design by Paul Wolf and included in the redesign of the Neustädter Elbe bank. From 1984 to 1985 it was reconstructed and the management of the Hotel Bellevue was housed. The house was included in the hotel's garden design.

The garden house is not far from the so-called Canaletto view .
