Career
Jonas Andersson began his career as a hockey player in the youth of AIK Solna , for which he was active until 1999. He was then selected in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft in the second round as the 33rd player of the Nashville Predators . First he played for a year with the North Bay Centennials in the Ontario Hockey League before he was on the ice for the first time for Nashville's farm team , the Milwaukee Admirals , in the International Hockey League towards the end of the 1999/2000 season . Also in the following season Andersson played for Milwaukee in the IHL. For the 2001/02 season, Milwaukee moved to the American Hockey League , where Andersson was active with the team for the following two years. In the 2001/02 season the striker also made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Predators, but remained pointless in five missions.
Had after Andersson injury in the 2003-04 season sidelined with ice hockey, he returned for the next game year in his native Sweden, where he initially signed a contract at second division Leksands IF received before it for Södertälje SK and Brynäs IF in Elitserien on the ice. After this year Andersson moved to the Finnish SM-liiga , where he was active for Ilves Tampere and HPK Hämeenlinna for the following three seasons . At the end of the 2007/08 season , Kärpät Oulu signed the attacker. Andersson became champions with the Finns at the end of the season . In the following season Andersson reached the final in the SM-liiga again with his team, but lost there with Kärpät with 0: 4 wins to the opponent JYP Jyväskylä .
After this success he moved together with teammate Josef Boumedienne to HK Dinamo Minsk from the Continental Hockey League . In July 2010 he got a one-year contract with the Nashville Predators. Most of the time, however, the Swede spent with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL, as Andersson was transferred to the Vancouver Canucks in October 2010 in a transfer deal . After four pointless games for the Canucks, he returned to Europe in January 2011 and signed a contract with Ak Bars Kazan in the KHL. In May 2011 the striker was signed by their league rivals Atlant Mytishchi .
For Atlant Andersson completed 99 KHL games in which he scored 26 goals before he was given in January 2013 in exchange for Ilya Krikunow to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod .
In the 2013/14 season he was initially under contract with HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk before he was released from this in November 2014.
