Voie

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Voie , also called Voye , was a French measure of firewood and coal and corresponded to a load of coal .

In Paris this had accumulated 15 hectoliters and struck 12 hectoliters . The measure was also used for plaster of paris and stones . The Voie was defined as a Parisian load (one of four different) for firewood with width = 5 feet x height = 4 feet x log length = 3½ feet. The load of charcoal was 2 hectoliters or 1/5 cubic meter .

The earlier old coal measure Voie was divided into 15 minots, also in demi-minots (half minot).
