Vojislav Vučković

Vojislav Vučković (born October 18, 1910 in Pirot , † December 25, 1942 in Belgrade ) was a Yugoslav composer.

Vučković studied from 1929 at the Prague Conservatory with Josef Suk and Alois Hába . From 1935 he was the conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic, from 1936 professor at the city's music academy, which was later named after him. He was shot as a “communist resistance fighter” by soldiers of the National Socialist occupation forces.

He composed three symphonies and four symphonic poems , chamber music works and songs, and wrote musicological works.
