The Voldafjord (also: Voldsfjord , norweg .: Voldsfjorden ) is an estuary in the province of Møre og Romsdal in Norway . It is an arm of the Røvdefjord in the Sunnmøre region . The actual fjord is about 18 km long, but it is 29 km to the end of the Austefjord . The entrance to the fjord is between Risneset in the west and Bjerkneset in the east. Lauvstad is on the western bank. From there, Volda can be reached on the other side by a ferry, which calls at Folkestad on the south bank and thus bypasses the Dalsfjord that branches off south of Lauvstad. South of Volda the fjord divides into two arms, the short Kilsfjord to the south-west and the Austefjord, which runs further to the east. At the end of this is Fyrde, the last place inland on the fjord.

With a maximum depth of 697 meters, at Voldshammaren, the Voldafjord is the deepest fjord in Sunnmøre.

On the west bank of the Voldafjord, the E 39 runs from Straumshamn to Folkestad and via the ferry to Volda. Another route from Straumshamn to Volda is Riksveg 651, which reaches Volda via Fyrde at the end of the fjord. The ferry from Volda to Lauvstad is part of Riksveg 652, which then follows the west bank of the fjord to its mouth and from there to Vanylven .
