Shamim Sarif
Shamim Sarif (born September 24, 1969 in London ) is a British author and director of South Asian and South African origins. " The Hidden World " is her first novel. It has won several awards, received critical acclaim and was made into a film under the title " The World Unseen " with Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth in the lead roles. Sarif's second novel, “The Life They Dreamed of”, was published by Krug & Schadenberg in summer 2010 and is currently being filmed.
Shamim Sarif married her long-time partner in 2015, the film producer Hanan Kattan. The couple have two sons and live in London.
