Volker Scourge

Volker Geißel (born November 16, 1946 ) is a German graduate economist. Ludwig Geißel's son is the former managing director of the Diakonie-Klinikum Stuttgart and the Protestant Education Center for Health Professions in Stuttgart.

Act

From 1992 to 2012 Volker Geißel was administrative director in the Evangelical Diakonissenanstalt Stuttgart and managing director of the deaconess hospital. He was involved in the establishment of the Diakonie-Klinikum Stuttgart Diakonissenkrankenhaus und Paulinenhilfe gGmbH and became its first managing director in 2003.

Geißel merged the three Protestant nursing schools in Stuttgart and founded the Protestant Training Center for Health Professions Stuttgart (EBZ), of which he was managing director from 2003 to 2016.

In 2004 he became the second deputy member of the state arbitration board of the Baden-Württemberg Hospital Association BWKG. Until 2010, he was deputy chairman of the BWKG specialist committee for care facilities.

In 2005 he was appointed to the expert commission of the regional hospital committee. He was also the managing director of the Evangelical Hospital Association of Baden-Württemberg.

Since 2011 he has been chairman of the support association of the Diakonie-Klinikum Stuttgart.

On January 23, 2019, the Esslingen District Administrator Heinz Eininger awarded him the Staufer Medal on behalf of Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann as a thank you for his innovative and imaginative development of the hospital landscape in Stuttgart and Baden-Württemberg.
