Volker Jung (politician, 1942)
Volker Jung (born February 24, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German SPD politician and former member of the Bundestag .
Life
After attending school, Jung graduated from high school in 1962 . He then studied political science and economics at the Free University of Berlin until 1969 , from which he graduated as a political scientist . From 1970 to 1972 Jung worked as a consultant at the economic institute of the trade unions, after several other jobs he became head of division at the DGB federal executive board in 1983. From 1994 to 2002 he was Deputy General Manager of the Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU). He was also active on various supervisory boards as an employee representative.
Political party
Jung has been a member of the SPD since 1963. He was deputy chairman of the Düsseldorf SPD.
MP
Volker Jung was a member of the Bundestag from 1983 to 2002 as a directly elected member of the Düsseldorf II constituency . Since 1987 he was the energy policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.
