Volker Neumann (politician)

Volker Neumann (* 10. September 1942 in Forst in the Lausitz ) is a German politician of the SPD . He was a member of the German Bundestag from June 20, 1978 to 1983, from November 11, 1983 to 1987 and from 1990 to 2005 .

His areas of expertise in parliament were human rights and foreign policy. From 1995 to 1998 he headed the committee of inquiry into GDR assets and from 1999 to 2002 the committee of inquiry into the CDU donation affair . From 2002 to 2005 he was chairman of the parliamentary control committee and in the 16th and 17th electoral periods of the German Bundestag (2005-2013) a deputy member of the G10 commission .

Neumann has been a lawyer since 1970 and a notary in Bramsche since 1974 .
