Volker Schlappner (born February 18, 1964 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Volker Schlappner is the son of soccer coach Klaus Schlappner . He started his career as a teenager at FV Biblis. In 1979 he switched to SV Darmstadt 98 as a youth and became German champion in the state cup in 1981 with the Hessen selection. From 1982 he played the DFB junior team and was also part of the professional squad. The only game in the 2nd Bundesliga he completed on March 28, 1983 in the game against MSV Duisburg (6-2) under coach Manfred Krafft .

After the season, President Wilhelm Grüber brought him to SV Waldhof Mannheim . Volker Schlappner was in the professional squad of SV Waldhof from 1984 to 1986 and played in the DFB youth team.

In 1986 he said goodbye to professional football and joined Olympia Lampertheim .

After the playing career

In 1989 Volker Schlappner took over the family business and became managing director of Schlappner Elektro GmbH, which his father had founded in 1970. From 1995 to 2000 he worked as a consultant and project outfitter with his own company and office in Beijing. He has been a member of the Lions Club Lampertheim since 2007 and its president in 2012/2013. In 2011, Volker Schlappner was elected to the community council of his place of residence Biblis.

He has remained loyal to football and works as a players' agent.
