Volker Westhagemann

Volker Westhagemann (born March 9, 1964 in Rheda ) is a former German sprinter .

He became German junior champion over 100 meters in 1984 and over 200 meters in 1985 . In the adult sector, he won the German championship with the Wattenscheider 4 x 100 meter relay in the same year . In 1987 he was third over 200 meters and in 1991 third over 200 meters.

Internationally, he started at the 1986 European Championships in Stuttgart, where he was eliminated in the semi-finals over 200 meters. In 1987 he reached the quarter-finals at the World Championships in Rome over 200 meters and took fifth place with the German team in the 4 x 100 meter relay.

Volker Westhagemann started for the gymnastics club Germersheim, MTG Mannheim , TV Wattenscheid 01 and LG Olympia Dortmund .
