Volkersdorf (desert)

Volkersdorf is a deserted village in the district of the hamlet Böhlscheiben the city of Bad Blankenburg in Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringia .

The Volkersdorf desert can be seen from the Siegfriedfelsen to the Hünenkuppe . Volkersdorf was located south of the Böhlplatten district, as evidenced by the photo with the following inscription: South view of Böhlenscheiben from the Volkersdorf desert with a view of the Gölitz walls and the Baropturm .

history

The 14 deserted areas mentioned in 1370, including Volkersdorf, were either destroyed in the Blackburg House War (1448–1450) or the Thirty Years War (1618–1648), or people were relocated in the 15th and 16th centuries.
