Volkhard Spitzer

Volkhard Spitzer (born August 12, 1943 in Göppingen ) is a German pastor of the Christian Center .

Life

Volkhard Spitzer became known in the 1960s as the “ Jesus People Pastor” in West Berlin . During this time he worked as a pastor at Nollendorfplatz in the Christian Center Berlin (CZB). In the years to come, the CZB grew to a community with more than 1,000 visitors, many of whom were homeless , drug addicts or prostitutes who found a new home there.

The 1st Charismatic Congress in 1979 and the Berlin Confessing Days in the Olympic Stadium in 1981 made Spitzer known beyond the borders of Germany.

Under Volkhard Spitzer, the CZB finally moved from Nollendorfplatz to the church on Südstern , where he handed over his office to his successor Peter Dippl in 1986. During this time Spitzer Cross founded Continental Ministries in order to be able to pursue his evangelistic work, especially in Russia .

In 1998 Spitzer took over the Tabor community in Berlin-Kreuzberg , which merged with the CZB on August 15, 2004. At the end of June 2005, Spitzer resigned his offices in the church at Südstern and has headed the City Church Berlin International since September 2005, which was initially located in the St. Agnes Church in Berlin-Kreuzberg and since 2012 in the St. George's Church ( Berlin) celebrates their church services. These are broadcast via satellite on the Hope for Tomorrow program in Germany and Asia .

He has a son with his wife Erika.
