Volkmar Schneider (editor)

Volkmar Schneider (* 1949 in Greiz ) has been publisher, editor and author of the Greiz home calendar since 1996.

Life

In 1968, Schneider obtained his Abitur at the Extended High School in Greiz. In 1972 he graduated from the TU Dresden with a degree in industrial engineering . From 1972 to 1991 he held managerial positions at VEB Bekleidungswerke herdas (2000 employees). Since 1982 he has worked there as director for science and technology, with Schneider also being deputy operations director and deputy managing director since 1987. In 1992 he took over the position of customer advisor / real estate at Kreissparkasse Greiz . From 1992 to 1994 he was the personal advisor to the mayor of Greiz, and until 2011 he was head of economics at the Greiz city administration. In 2011 he retired.

Schneider is married and has a son and a daughter.
