The bank was founded on September 17, 1905 under the name "Dammer Savings and Loan Association". The bank, which has since been renamed Volksbank Damme eG, merged in 2000 with Volksbank Osterfeine eG and in 2002 with Volksbank Holdorf eG. Since then, the bank has been called Volksbank Dammer Berge eG.
