In 1863 the credit association for craftsmen and farmers was founded. In 1942 the name was changed to Bitburger Bankverein eGmbH and in 1971 to Volksbank Bitburg eG. In 2002 there was a merger with Raiffeisenbank Biersdorf eG, in 2006 with Raiffeisenbank Neuerburg-Land eG, in 2010 with Raiffeisenbank Ostliche Südeifel eG and in 2016 with Volksbank Eifel Mitte eG . Since the merger of Volksbank Bitburg eG with Volksbank Eifel Mitte eG in 2016, the bank has been called Volksbank Eifel eG .

Activities and profile

Volksbank Eifel eG trains bankers and offers places for a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Volksbank Eifel eG has been training IT clerks since 2019.
