List of cooperative banks in Germany

The Volksbank Koblenz Mittelrhein eG was a German cooperative bank based in Koblenz in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate. Its history was marked by numerous mergers. In 2002 the Volksbank Mittelrhein eG and the Koblenzer Volksbank merged. The bank branches extended from Dommershausen in the southwest of the business area to Oberwinter in the north. The bank's oldest predecessor institution was the Raiffeisenkasse Rübenach, founded in 1880. Rübenach is now a district of Koblenz. In 2019 the bank merged with Volksbank RheinAhrEifel .

Corporate structure

Volksbank Koblenz Mittelrhein eG was a cooperative bank with around 22,000 members. The main purpose of the cooperative was the economic promotion and support of its members (§ 2 of the statutes). According to the statutes, the members elected representatives from their ranks every four years (one representative for each 50 members).

Strategic business areas and scope of services

The business areas of the bank included corporate and private customer business. The organization of the bank was divided into the areas of corporate banking for the self-employed, craftsmen, tradespeople and the professions. In the private customer business, the focus was on asset management, old-age provision, and real estate brokerage and financing.

Cooperative financial group

The bank was part of the cooperative financial group Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken and a member of the Federal Association of German Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken (BVR) and its security scheme.
