As a cooperative bank, Volksbank Trossingen eG belongs to the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken finance group and is therefore the security scheme of the Federal Association of German Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken e. V. (BVR) affiliated. The bank has over 10,000 customers, over 5,000 of whom are also members, i.e. partners, of the bank. The main purpose and task of the cooperative is the economic promotion and support of its members (§ 2 of the statutes).

According to the basic idea of a cooperative, 30 committed citizens founded the Handwerkerbank Trossingen in 1865.
Initial and continuing education
The training opportunities at Volksbank Trossingen range from a 2.5-year training course to become a banker through to a shortened training course to become a financial assistant. Continuous training and education of employees is part of the business strategy of the cooperative bank.
Cooperative financial group of the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken
The bank is part of the cooperative financial group Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken and a member of the Federal Association of German Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken (BVR) and its security scheme. The statutory auditing association is the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative Association .
Social Commitment
As a regional sponsor, Volksbank Trossingen traditionally assumes responsibility in social matters, sport, culture and youth work. This includes u. a. Cooperation with associations and schools as well as non-profit institutions.
