The Ubbedissen public observatory is a public observatory operated by the Bielefeld Natural Science Association . It is located on the eastern edge of Bielefeld in the Ubbedissen district . The Ubbedissen observatory is located on the upper floor of the Diakoniezentrum , the dome is mounted on the roof above. A stationary 16 " hypergraph (40 cm mirror diameter) with accessories for observation and celestial photography is available in the dome , and there are further mobile telescopes for observation outside the influence of the neighboring city.

The Ubbedissen public observatory offers regular public observations of the starry sky and the sun, as well as astronomical lectures. The observatory is open every Friday from 8 p.m., special dates and lectures are posted and announced on the website.
