Volkstorf is a district of the municipality Vastorf in the district of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony .

The district of Volkstorf is to the north in the municipality of Vastorf and the Lüneburg-Dahlenburg-Dannenberg railway line. The place has a direct access from the federal highway 216 from the north, and an access from Vastorf and Rohstorf .

history

Volkstorf is first mentioned in 1296 in bonis Volquardestorp . In it you have to see the possession of a Volquard or Volkward. Volkstorf is one of the ten-free Wendish villages that stretch as a belt at a distance of approx. 10 km from Lüneburg to Hohenbostel . The residents were obliged to go to the office for hunting, hunting and traveling to war, but they did not have to attend castle festivals. The deserted village of Köstorf lies in the corridor of the current village of Volkstorf. The Köstorf lands, which were cultivated by the Volkstorf people, are said to have belonged to a noble farm in Reinstorf, just like the Horndorf family. North of Volkstorf, in 1309 a confirmation from the Rastede Monastery together with other villages in the eastern Ilmenau region named “Berc”, a desert whose name still exists in the forest “Die Birken”. The corridor of this desert place is probably the southern part of the Barendorf district .

Ecclesiastically Volkstorf belongs to the parish Reinstorf . On March 1, 1974, Volkstorf was incorporated into the municipality of Vastorf.
