Rohstorf is a district of the municipality Vastorf in the district of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony .

location

The district of Rohstorf is north of the municipality of Vastorf and the Lüneburg-Dahlenburg-Dannenberg railway line. The place has a direct access from the federal highway 216 from the north and an access from Vastorf and Volkstorf in the west. In an easterly direction, a forest path leads through the Mausetal towards Bohndorf and Aljarn (OT Altenmedingen ). In addition, a bus line runs through Rohstorf, which offers connections to Lüneburg and Dahlenburg as well as the surrounding communities.

Rohstorf has 59 houses. The numbering took place in the order of the size of the yard and later according to the development of the land. The village center is on the one hand building number 1 with a notice board for orientation and public announcements, on the other hand the pond, also used as a fire water pond , which is fed from its own spring with the monument to the fallen.

history

The desolate village of Hoogenrohstorf is a forerunner of the current village of Rohstorf. It is a deserted area in the forest prior enclosure north of the former village of Scharnhop, which also belongs to Rohstorf. Late Slavic Kermik de 11./12. Century found. Immediately to the north of the site, the Churhannoversche Landesaufnahme from 1764/86 shows a Sieleitz. Mentioned is 1266 Rotztorpe and 1296 Rokestorpe. Villa Scharnehop appears in the documents 1307. In the 14th century Scharnhop was a village with seven farms, in 1568 Scharnhop is only a farm. In 1450 Rohstorf had three hook farms. A Ploghof is not mentioned.

Ecclesiastically Rohstorf always belonged to the parish Reinstorf . The no longer existing school in Rohstorf was founded in 1905. On March 1, 1974, Rohstorf was incorporated into the municipality of Vastorf.
