Volkwin von Schwalenberg
Volkwin von Schwalenberg (* around 1170, † after 1243), also Volkwin III. zu Busdorf , was a priest and canon in Paderborn .
Life
Volkwin was born as the fourth son of Count Volkwin II of Schwalenberg from the noble family of the same name and his second wife Lutrud. As a later born son, he was chosen for a spiritual career. In 1185 he became canon in Paderborn . In the same year he and his brothers Wittekind , Hermann and Heinrich helped found the Cistercian monastery in Marienfeld .
In 1189 Volkwin received the bailiwick of Paderborn and in 1224 he became provost of the Busdorf monastery . He died after 1243.
