Voluntary Market

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Voluntary Market is the designation of the markets or countries in which initiatives at the national level or from industry are concerned with reducing CO 2 emissions in industry or from traffic volumes without any obligation on the part of the nation states. The aim is to make it possible to trade in emissions rights ( emissions trading ).

Similar to the Kyoto Protocol , sometimes based on it, for example in the USA the states of California , Wisconsin , New Hampshire , Massachusetts , the New England states or in Canada the eastern provinces can set up a kind of own contribution with a voluntary system for emissions reduction without this the national government would have signed the Kyoto Protocol or without a national emissions trading system.
