Von Hippel Award

The Von Hippel Award is the highest scientific award of the Materials Research Society in memory of Arthur R. von Hippel . It has been awarded annually since 1978, the first prize winner was von Hippel himself in 1976.

The prize in the field of interdisciplinary materials science is endowed with 10,000 US dollars (as of 2014). Award winners also receive honorary membership of the Materials Research Society and are supposed to give a lecture at the opening of the respective autumn meeting of the society.
