Pre-focusing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Many cameras with autofocus offer the option of focusing (bringing into focus) the subject in advance by just touching the shutter release button or pressing it halfway. At the same time, the exposure ( f-number and exposure time ) is usually determined during this process .

If you then press the shutter button fully, most cameras take the picture with a considerably shorter shutter release delay .

This technique is particularly suitable for action photos, where you can specify the image section at least a few seconds in advance .
