Vortex86
The Vortex86 is an x86 compatible SoC processor. It was developed by Rise Technology , but was then sold to SiS and finally to DM&P Electronics. In January 2009, DM&P also signed a contract with Xcore that allows Xcore to sell the chip as Xcore86 .
variants
- Vortex86 (SiS55x / Rise mP6) developed by SiS / Rise Technology, three integer and MMX pipelines, jump prediction
- Vortex86SX - 300 MHz, 32KiB L1 cache, no FPU , no L2 cache. Supports both SD and DDR2 SDRAM
- Vortex86DX - 600 MHz to 1 GHz (2.02Watt @ 800Mhz), 32KiB L1 cache, FPU, 256kiB L2 cache, six-stage pipeline. Supports up to 1GiB DDR2 SDRAM
The PDX-600 is a version of the Vortex86DX that only differs in the number of serial ports (3 instead of 5) and the lack of I²C bus and servo controllers and is therefore aimed less at the industrial than the embedded market. A netbook uses this chip.
- Vortex86MX - TBA Q4 2009
DM&P offers an embedded Linux distribution that is adapted to the SoC.
Before taking over the Vortex86, DM&P manufactured the M6117D , an Intel i386SX compatible, 25-40 MHz SoC.
