Facilities

The following pre-warning devices are prescribed by the guidelines for securing workplaces on roads (RSA):

Advance warning sign with speed limit

This board is set up as an advance notice board on two or more lane streets. It draws the attention of road users to mobile shut-off devices that could only be seen late without prior notice due to poor visibility or winding roads. The board consists of a speed limit and a traffic control board. At the top there are also two yellow warning lights for better identification.

Warning beacon

The warning beacon consists of a slightly larger warning beacon and a movable, motor-driven warning flag , which must make at least 20 up and down movements per minute. There is a small yellow warning light on top .

The warning beacon is used both on motorways and on other roads for brief advance warning of lane narrowing due to work places. The beacon is made of retroreflective material and is set up in such a way that the diagonal strips of the beacon slope towards the traffic.

Flashing arrow

Small flashing arrow

The small flashing arrow consists of an array of yellow warning lights that give traffic an advance notice of the direction to be taken. They can show an arrow pointing left or right or light up as a cross.
