Vallo Reimaa

Vallo Reimaa (born August 8, 1961 in Kose , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian politician . He was Regional Minister of the Republic of Estonia from April 2007 to January 2008.

Life

Vallo Reimaa graduated from high school in 1979 in Kose ( Harju district ). Until 1986 he studied history and social science at the University of Tartu .

From 1982 to 1986 he worked as a teacher in Puhja and from 1986 to 1990 at the elementary school in Kohtla . From 1989 to 1991 he worked for a cultural foundation, before he was the education and culture officer of the Jõhvi City Council from 1991 to 1998 . From 1994 to 2005 he was also a lecturer at various private universities in Estonia and at the University of Tartu . From 1999 to 2007 Vallo Reimaa was the director of the high school in Jõhvi.

Since 1999, Vallo Reimaa has been a member of Jõhvi City Council and since 2002 its chairman. Since 2005 he has also been President of the Association of Towns and Municipalities of Ida-Virumaa .

In April 2007, Vallo Reimaa became regional minister in Prime Minister Andrus Ansip's cabinet . Public administration in Estonia was also part of his responsibility . He belongs to the conservative party Isamaa ja Res Publica Liit . On January 22, 2008 he had to resign from his position as regional minister after internal party disputes.

Vallo Reimaa is married and has one son.
