A red warning light

A warning lamp (also warning lamp , hazard warning light ) is a light source that is used to draw attention to a dangerous situation or a dangerous state or a dangerous working state of a machine.

  • Part of the special signal from the police, fire brigade and rescue vehicles (blue rotating beacons or flashing lights)

Warning lights to increase flight safety u. a. on tall structures are referred to as lighting .

In Germany, a yellow warning light is one of the items of equipment to be carried in vehicles on vehicles over 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight ( Section 53a StVZO ). These usually work with a flashing light bulb .

A warning light for road users (also called Nissen light after a manufacturer ) is a battery-operated small lamp that is used to warn of a danger to other road users in traffic . To do this, it usually emits flashing, directed light . Common colors are red, orange or white.

To protect against accident sites or other traffic hazards, u. a. yellow flash lamps or triple flash lamps (Triblitz) are used by aid organizations and on motorways . Due to the greater brightness, they are easier to see from a distance.

Red warning lights are only for full closure on barriers, for example to secure employment places the fire department or police or jobs , are used.
