Vulcano Sabatino

The Vulcano Sabatino or the Sabatian volcanic system in the Lazio region was active between 600,000 and 40,000 years ago.

The approximately 1600 km³ area is located north of Rome and east of Civitavecchia .

The activities result in the Sabatine Mountains and among others the Lago di Martignano and the Bracciano in the volcanic craters.
