Vygantas Vareikis

Vygantas Vareikis (born March 25, 1960 in the district of Klaipėda , Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian historian, professor and politician from Klaipėda .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Gargždai in 1978, he worked in the company "Metalas" Gargždai from 1978 to 1979 and from 1979 to 1980 he studied at the preparatory courses of the Vilniaus universitetas . From 1980 to 1985 he completed his diploma studies at the Vilniaus universitetas and from 1989 to 1992 studied at the Aspirantur. In 1999 he received his doctorate at the Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas on the subject of "Military and political activities of Lietuvos šaulių sąjunga from 1919 to 1923" with Regina Žepkaitė (1925-2010).

From 1985 he taught at the Klaipėda Faculty of Lietuvos konservatorija , from 1993 at Klaipėdos universitetas , from 2001 head of the department and from 2010 professor.

2003–2007, 2007–2011 and from 2011 member of the Klaipėda City Council .
