Vytautas Buzas

Vytautas Buzas (born May 11, 1988 in Plungė ) is a Lithuanian basketball coach .

career

The 1.97-meter-tall winger was part of the squad of the Lithuanian first division club Klaipėdos Neptūnas in the 2006/07 season . In 2009/10 he played for the second division club Naglis-Adakris Palangos and temporarily for Panevėžio Techasas in the country's top division. In 2011 he left his home country and played for French fourth division club Hagetmau-Doazit Chalosse. He returned to Lithuania and played for second division clubs until 2015. He ended his playing career due to injury and worked as a coach in the youth department of Perlas MRU, an offshoot of the Lithuanian top team Lietuvos rytas Vilnius . He was also the manager of Perlas MRU.

In the summer of 2017, Buzas took over the management of the youth department of the German second division club Nürnberg Falcons BC . Among other things, he took care of the training of young players and acted as an assistant coach of the Nuremberg professional team as a link between the youth and men’s division. In the 2018/19 season he coached Nuremberg's U19 team in the youth basketball league . At the beginning of September 2019, Buzas was promoted to the position of head coach of Nuremberg's second division team, replacing Ralph Junge . At the beginning of December 2019, Buzas left Nuremberg and returned to Lithuania for family reasons. Under his leadership, the Franconians had recorded eight wins and three defeats in the 2019/20 season so far.
